Parent Author Visit - 02/07/19

As part of Aspirations Week, one of our lovely parents came into school to share her books with us.  It was a joy having this parent share her wonderful books with us.  The children loved it too.  Thank you!


Monty Dog Visit - 02/07/19

The whole school enjoyed an exciting visit from Monty the dog and author Mark.  The children loved meeting the star of the books 'Monty' and listening to Mark read his books.  A wonderful experience!

Poetry Competition - 04/06/19 

These two went and smashed the town performance poetry competition!!!!! Such talented Delph Siders, and winners!!! The poems they read and performed were The Tin Can Band by Margaret Mayh and Gran, can you rap? by Jack Ousbey.  Well done! 


Reading Event - 18/06/19 

Today these two enjoyed attending a reading event, for the progress they have made this year and in particular their love and enthusiasm towards reading.  They also received a bag of goodies and had to chance to meet the author Richard O’Neill. 

Lunch time reading - 04/04/19

During a wet lunch time, children enjoyed listening to 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' story with Mrs Littler and Poppy.

Some reluctant readers enjoyed reading in the library with Poppy.  They even encouraged Poppy to read a book!


Junior Librarians - 3/4/19

These lovely librarians will be working with Miss Briggs to take care of our wonderful school library.

Reading Champion in Year 5!

Well, we finally have our first reader in Year 5 to complete their bookmark! They have read 18 different books since October, what an achievement!
