Christigle
We enjoyed making christigles and learning the meaning of each part.
Heartsmart
Year 3 and Poppy enjoyed the Heartsmart session on learning about what love is and isn't! We know it is healthy to let love in.
PE
Children enjoyed taking part in a range of activities today including running, skipping, jumping, balancing and throwing.
Artist Time
First year 3 experimented with different grades of pencils and biro drawing vegetables. They then used watercolours to add detail to their drawings.
English - Fables
Today children worked together to orally retell a fable, they were encouraged to read aloud and use their voices to make it interesting.
Writing a Diary Entry
Year 3 enjoyed listening to sounds of D-Day and pretending to be there. They have written something great diary entries!
The Book Bus!
Year 3 were very excited to visit the book bus, some couldn't decide which book to get! Decisions, decisions.
Geography
We labelled England and France on a map. We also labelled the 5 beaches of Normandy where D-Day took place.
Inferring through pictures
Year 3 explored a remembrance themed picture, using their inference skills they answered questions about it.
WW2 Aircrafts
Year 3 found it interesting learning about the artillery, weaponry, aviation, tanks and other equipment soldiers used during D-Day. We all had a go at sketching a chosen aircraft that was used during the attack.
WW1
Year 3 enjoyed learning about WW1 and recalling interesting facts from the war. We also created poppy art to incorporate 100 years since the end of WW1. Whilst working we enjoyed listening to music that was around at the time.
