At Delph Side, our Geography curriculum has been developed to give our children an ever-widening understanding of their immediate location, which expands to their location within wider settings in our county, the UK, Europe and in the world. Our curriculum challenges children to study a diverse selection of people and places, and the challenges that people from other locations and cultures may face in their region.
As children progress into KS2, wider cultural, political and ethical topics are studied, and the study of human and physical geography is applied when learning about human movement, trade and why humans choose where we live.
Fieldwork is used to apply our expanding mapping knowledge, and to demonstrate cross-curricular skills in maths, art, science and English.
