This week, the children took part in 'Artsmark Day'. Here we developed our understanding of arts and culture around our theme of Bees. Each class took part in a visual arts, dance and drama activities, resulting in a whole school performance of their dance sequences.

As part of the visual arts session, the children #enjoyed creating their very own BEE artwork. This varied throughout all key stages with painting, collage, printmaking and drawing. We now have a BEE-utiful whole school display for our school hall.

Next up was Dance were all year groups developed a dance sequence to 'The Flight Of The Bumblebee's' We learned about putting together different sequences and steps through transition movements. The children #embraced the challenge and performed to the rest of the school at the end of the school day.

Lastly, all classes looked at performing poetry through Drama techniques. In KS1 we looked at learning poems by heart and adding actions to perform. In KS2 the children #evolved their poetry writing skills by developing their own poems around our Bee theme and performed them to the class.

Overall, it was such a great day celebrating lots of Arts and Culture around our school theme.
