In the Hangout, children are encouraged to use the calming area at times when they need it. In this area, children have access to a range of sensory and calming resources to support them in helping to regulate themselves.
The blue seating area is our morning welcome and seating area for learning or social times. Here we welcome each other, discuss The Zones of Regulation and which zone we are in, talk about the weather and days of the week. Children are also encouraged to share information about their transitional and comforting objects during show and tell.
At the table we enjoy breakfast or snack time, where we discuss and chat using a range of conversation starters. Independent or group learning activities may also take place at the table, if children are ready to do this. At other times children will learn and work where they are most comfortable.
The Hub is home to our Family Wellbeing Coordinator, children can explore the toys and resources in this area. At times children can have access to The Hub where Ms Noon will deliver interventions and offer support when needed.
Throughout the day or week, children can have access to our sensory room with ball pool, soft mood change lighting, trampette, bubble tube and fibre optics.
