This artistic bunch had a great time doing charcoal sketches of animals in their sketchbooks this week! We have been looking at the work of sculptor Hamish Mackie in the build up to creating our own animals sculptures - today using our new charcoal skills to design and sketch animals we could make!

It was fabulous to see so many Year 1's using the techniques they have built up over our Art lessons, from producing thick and thin lines to smudging, shading and hatching with charcoal!

We can't wait to get our hands on the clay next week to produce some sculptures!
