Year Six had a blast celebrating VE Day with a VE Day Zoom with real-life historian, followed by some fab history lessons and a VE-themed party lunch!

 

We analysed photographic evidence of how Jewish POWs reacted to their liberation and how the soldiers reacted to news that Germany had declared their unconditional surrender to the Allies.

 

We then interviewed six characters to establish their life-story and how the occupation of Nazi troops had impacted their lives - with some amazing responses...true History in Action!
