What a fantastic day celebrating art and culture around the theme of Fireworks! 
In Year 2 we began the day by learning a really super poem by James Carter. We practiced using expression in our voices to make sure we portrayed the excitement that the poet wanted to show! 
 

Next up, we listened to and appraised Handel’s overture, written for the Royal Fireworks! We had an excellent time creating our own piece of music with glockenspiels to complement the fireworks.

Finally, it was time to create some beautiful firework art pieces! We used dark and cold colours to create a night sky backdrop before adding some bright and beautiful fireworks in oil pastel!
