Remembrance week has been filled with lots of different activities learning all about the Evacuees in WW2. The children started the week, exploring an evacuee’s suitcase, learning about why they needed gas masks and how toys from the past are different to they toys we play with today. We enjoyed skipping in groups, playing tiddlywinks and making our very own evacuee pictures talk!
On Thursday we used WW2 rations to bake some delicious Rock Buns and went to our Delph Side Victory Garden to add our thump print Poppy art. To end the week the children got creative and made their very own gas masks and listened to the air raid sirens and learnt what they would need to do to be safe if they were an evacuee!
Throughout the week the children have explored making their own Poppy representations in many creative ways. #enjoy -#embrace #evolve
