Y1 Blue Penguin

Over the past few weeks, Year 1 have been reading the story Blue Penguin. A heart-warming story about friendship and belonging from the award-winning illustrator Petr Horacek. "I feel just like a penguin," says Blue Penguin. "But you're not like us," said the other penguins and they left him all alone. Poor Blue Penguin. Will he be able to convince the other penguins he is one of them after all? This story has been great to talk about during our Jigsaw lessons as we are #celebratingdifferences this term and Year 1 have offered Blue Penguin a helping hand. We have been researching information about penguins to find out if we think Blue Penguin is a real penguin like the others, even though he looks a little different. We have been writing letters to send him in the South Pole with our findings. #wemakethedifference #embrace #evolve #enjoy
