We may be mini in size but we are mighty mathematicians in Year One! This week we have worked tirelessly to recognise 2D and 3D shapes. We have fully #enjoyed using the feely bag to see if we can use the sense of touch to recognise shapes. We have been talking about how many different ways we can sort shapes eg. by colour, vertices, faces, edges and so much more! We have created repeated patterns as well as challenging our teacher's and partner to finish our own shape filled patterns. We have been learning the order of the days and months through songs and games and have been changing the date every morning on our class board. We have also been counting forwards and backwards to 20 to help us gain a better understanding of teen numbers. Did you know there is no fiveteen?
