Today, we have come to school in our brightest, most colourful clothes to raise funds and awareness for the National Autistic Society. As it is World Autism Acceptance Week, we discussed what is Autism and how we should celebrate our differences. Autism is a lifelong condition which can affect social and communication skills. As Autism is a spectrum condition, every Autistic person is affected differently. We researched some famous celebrities who are diagnosed as Autistic like the singer, Susan Boyle and the creator of Pokemon, Satoshi Tajiri. To celebrate all our differences, we played team games using a rainbow parachute. We worked as a team to balance and guide a ball, we attempted to make the parachute fly into space like a flying saucer ensuring everyone played a part and used our listening skills to swap to different places based on the colours we were holding. #enjoy #embrace #evolve #wemakethedifference
