Today, we spent all day exploring the Victorian era. We identified some similarities and differences between ways of life comparing life back then to today.

Did you know that not all Victorian children went to school? Some of the children from poorer families went to work in factories, coal mines and as chimney sweeps. Well Year 1 certainly learnt that today when they gained hands on experience, washing and drying clothes, cleaning rugs and much more!

We looked at how the children of poorer family's  would create their own outdoor games such as rolling the hula hoop, hopscotch and catch. 

We also enjoyed looking at some old artefacts and watching some interesting video's to give a better insight to life as a Victorian child.
