This week, we looked at a wordless story 'Bee and Me'. Without any text to guide us, we used our inference skills to explore the narrative through the pictures. We created hashtags to express our ideas of what the characters might be saying and thinking. We then explored the vital role bees play in our world using Wotsits! The Wotsits represented flowers, our fingers were the bees, as we picked up the crisps, the cheesy crumbs stuck to our fingers — just like pollen! When we touched another “flower,” the crumbs transferred — showing how bees help plants grow by spreading pollen. We then wrote a fact file about bees and how we can help them.
