Y3 Remembrance Day 2020
Today, Year 3 joined an expert historian on a WW1 Remembrance webinar, we observed two minutes silence to show our respects and also enjoyed watching and listening to the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance. A lovely way to remember those that lost their lives for us.
Year 3 Outdoor Learning WW2 Week
Year 3 had a brilliant time taking part in outdoor learning during WW2 Week. They worked in teams to cross no mans landing, dodging the barbed wire and land mines, they even had to bandage a fallen comrade and guide them back to safety!
Year 3 Victory Garden Visit
Year 3 visited our lovely Victory Garden. We read the messages we had written to the soldiers, we laid our beautiful class wreath near the cenotaph and took a minute reflection time to think about those that lost their lives during WW2.
Year 3 Remembrance Writing
Year 3 imagined they were soldiers during D-Day, landing on one of the 5 beaches of Normandy! They went on to write a diary entry as a soldier and used their senses to write ideas of what they may have seen, tasted, smelt, heard and felt. Great work Year 3.
Year 3 Run Rabbit, Run
Year 3 enjoyed listening to World War sounds and songs. We practised a short song, Run Rabbit, Run. A great, fun lesson for us all.
Year 3 D Day

Year 3 D Day Aircrafts
Year 3 have enjoyed finding out about the different types of artillery and aviation used during D Day. They used their artistic skills to draw one of the aircrafts using during the great battle.
Jigsaw Working Together
Lots of fun was had in a Jigsaw lesson, children were working together to create an animal and noise, the class had to cooperate with each other and listen for one animal stopping and starting again.
Y3 Science Forces
We have been learning about forces in science, we carried out a fair test using ramps and different surfaces. We found out that different surfaces affect the toy cars movement due to friction.
Year 3 Black History October 2020
As part of Black History Month, today we have been learning about Muhammad Ali. It was really interesting finding out about his life, especially when he was growing up, he was segregated. He was not allowed to go to school, restaurants or public places where white people went.

Physical Geography
Our focus in geography has been physical features of the UK. We worked in pairs and used the iPads to find information about different mountains around the UK. These included Ben Nevis, Mount Snowdon and Scafell Pike.
English - Biographies
This week in English, Year 3 have been really enthusiastic learning about biographies and reading about the lives of different famous people! Over the next couple of weeks we will be writing our own biography about a chosen person.
