Across October, Year 2 have been enjoying discussions about Black History Month! This week we focused on the stories, books, films and television shows we enjoy. Though we know that the world is made up of people with all different skin colours, we realised that the media we enjoy mostly features white characters! 

We had some fantastic discussions about how this must feel if you are not white, and the importance of representation in the things we like to watch and read. In our book corner, we have been enjoying a huge range of stories with black protagonists. 

We are so proud of amazing thoughts and ideas that Year 2 have had, contributing to each discussion in a really fantastic and mature way. Well done Year 2 :)
