Year Five have been investigating how air resistance can work as an opposing force to gravity. We also found that air resistance is influenced by the surface area of an object as it falls to Earth. To investigate this, we dropped parachutes of three differing sizes, with 3 specific surface areas. We timed how long it took each to touch the ground and calculated an average.
