Reception have been learning all about pairs and doubles. Each child had a Numicon piece and walked around the room to find a friend with the matching piece to make a double. They also placed objects into a “doubling machine” and predicted how many would come out. To explore doubles creatively, the children made butterfly doubles by painting spots on one wing and folding it over to print the matching number on the other side. They even found a friend with a matching sock to make a pair.
