This week in Reception we have been learning all about height. The children have been using the language of short/shortest and tall/tallest, and they have enjoyed comparing their own heights with their friends. We used a class height chart to see the differences between everyone, and the children then worked together to stand in order from the shortest to the tallest. Reception have also been exploring the concept of time. First, they challenged themselves to see how many jumps they could complete in 30 seconds. Then they carried out a fun investigation using a toaster: they toasted one piece of bread for 1 minute, another for 2 minutes and a third for 3 minutes. Afterwards, they compared the slices to see how the different toasting times had changed them.
