Year Six have been planning a science investigation into how microbes grow, and how we can alter the conditions that fungi can grow in.

We discussed the possible conditions we could subject fungi to, and then set out our constants and variables.

Year Six, once again, really enjoyed their outdoor PE session - filled with orienteering, team-building and trust exercises.

Year Six had a blast learning about micro-organisms and the various types of microbes around us!

They particularly enjoyed creating and naming their own microbe, and designing them using typical shape features of bacterium, viruses and fungi.

Year Six enjoyed designing their bunting to represent their dreams for the year and beyond. Look at the concentration!

Year Six had a great discussion in Jigsaw about their worries and dreams as they begin Year Six.

Year Six were all smiles during their first PE session of the year - focusing on team-building and orienteering around the hall (as it was raining cats and dogs outside!)

Year Six had the best day at Chester Zoo in the blazing sun! We loved the butterfly house and the jaguar house the most!

Year Six REALLY enjoyed learning about Taxonomy and classification using the Linnaeus system - probably because sweets were involved!

We have created classification keys with YES or NO questions to classify sweets into different classes based on their observable features.

Year Six cracked on from the outset today with maths, reading, handwriting and finished the afternoon with science. We learnt about Carl Linnaeus and his system for grouping plants and animals.

Year Six had an absolute BLAST getting all muddy and making their own muddy creations in the sun! Great team work, communication, lots of sensory work and just having a right laugh with each other - it's been lovely!
