Whole class reading in Year 3
Year 3 are working hard to improve their reading fluency and comprehension. During whole class reading, we have been reading the story of 'Vlad and the Space Race'. Lots of great discussions about why events happened and we could express our opinions.
Year 4 - Exploring with Ink
In Art this week, Year 4 #embraced drawing with ink. We explored using the ink by experimenting with different drawing materials, producing a variety of different lines.
Multiplication in Year 5!
Year 5 have been smashing it in maths this week! They have been brilliant at multiplying! #embrace #evolve
Year 3 - Food, Food, Food!
Year 3 have #embraced our drawing lesson this week, using bold, bright colours to represent food items. We have #enjoyed drawing some of our favourite foods, ready to start our sculptures next week.
Year 4 - Working on Times Tables
This week, Year 4 have been #evolving their representation of some times tables. We have explored many ways that we can represent some number sentences.
Year 1- Art- Outdoor Landscape Drawing!
This afternoon the children embraced the outdoors to create some lovely art work. We are focusing on the artist Monet. Today we drew landscapes of our outdoor area and the back of the school.
The children paid attention to detail and produced some lovely sketches.

Exploring light in Year 3
Awe and wonder this afternoon in Year 3, as the children enjoying light to work out the best material to make sunglasses out of. Following our class experiment, the children used the light meters to compare how much light objects let through.
Year Six meet Lancashire Fire & Rescue
Year Six enjoyed meeting Lancs Fire & Rescue to discuss all things road safety - which links in brilliantly as we are due to take part in Bikeability very soon!
Year Six adaptation lesson
Year Six have been studying adaptation in science, and have tested how animals have adapted to survive in harsh environments. This time, polar bears - using iced water and lard. We tested how effective lard is as an insulator
Year 1 - PE Throwing Skills!
The children demonstrated some fantastic throwing skills in PE this week!
They have been working on over arm and under arm throwing. They especially enjoyed trying to throw them into the hoops.

Year 4 - Experimenting with Tones and Shades
Year 4 #evolved their staying skills today by focusing on the skills of adding tone to their drawings. We used the elements of fire and water to look at, identifying the shades and tones they could see within the pictures. We then experimented with adding tone with oil pastels to create a movementā¦
Year 2 - Keith Haring Inspired Art
Year 2 absolutely loved looking at the work of Keith Haring! His colourful graffiti inspired pieces enabled us to have a go at creating our own colourful figures in dynamic shapes!
