Year 3 Victory Garden Visit
Year 3 visited our lovely Victory Garden. We read the messages we had written to the soldiers, we laid our beautiful class wreath near the cenotaph and took a minute reflection time to think about those that lost their lives during WW2.
Year 3 Remembrance Writing
Year 3 imagined they were soldiers during D-Day, landing on one of the 5 beaches of Normandy! They went on to write a diary entry as a soldier and used their senses to write ideas of what they may have seen, tasted, smelt, heard and felt. Great work Year 3.
Year 5 - Spitfire Sculptures!
Year 5 made a start on their spitfire sculptures yesterday! They have gone solid over night and are now ready to be painted today! #enjoy #remembrance
Pre-School Halloween Theme Day!
This week the children have enjoyed a range of Halloween themed stories. One of our favourites was Meg and Mog, in which Meg casted a spell on her friends turning them into mice! The children #enjoyed using their very own wand creations to cast spells
Year 3 Run Rabbit, Run
Year 3 enjoyed listening to World War sounds and songs. We practised a short song, Run Rabbit, Run. A great, fun lesson for us all.
Year 5 - Supermarine Spitfire Mark 1!
Year 5 have done their research and they are ready to start their Supermarine Spitfire Mark 1 sculptures this afternoon! #enjoy #remembrance
Year 2 - Remembrance Art
Year 2 have been learning about Remembrance and why we wear poppies. They enjoyed experimenting with drawing poppies before then painting their design onto a pebble to place in our Victory Garden. They wrote some lovely thoughtful messages to go alongside them.
Year 4 - Poppy Textiles
Year 4 #embraced their sewing skills to create some Poppies to add to our class Poppy Wreath.
They were very impressed with themselves and love how it turned out. Our Poppy Wreath has been placed in our schools Victory Garden to mark our respects.
Year 4 Cenotaph Visit
This afternoon, Year 4 went out to visit our school Victory Garden. We took the time to think about all the soldiers that fell during WW2. We lay down our class wreath by the Cenotaph and hung up our messages.
Year 3 D Day
In Year 3 our remembrance week focus is D Day, we have enjoyed learning about it over the past two days. Year 3 have been very inquisitive and intrigued about the Battle of Normandy. So far we have read about D Day and answered questions, ordered and described the events of D Day, discussed theā¦
Year 3 D Day Aircrafts
Year 3 have enjoyed finding out about the different types of artillery and aviation used during D Day. They used their artistic skills to draw one of the aircrafts using during the great battle.
