Year 2 (soon to be Year 3) enjoyed their transition morning in Year 3.They found out what they would be learning about next year, learnt how to use their magic badge to log into the chromebooks and even managed to fit in some handwriting, date writing and listened to the Dot Story to learn about…

Year loved visiting West Lancs College, as part of our Aspirations week fortnight, to look at career opportunities there. They loved seeing the different courses on offer, from hairdressing, construction, mechanics and sports therapy...so many choices.

A great start to Aspirations week with 2 visitors coming in to tell us about their jobs.

We enjoyed a visit from Sparta Martial Art in Skelmersdale and they taught us a range of different moves.

We then found out all about what an Optometrist does, with Joe from Suzanne Dennis…

Year 3 were excited by the news that they were 'Attendance Award' winners and their prize was a cinema afternoon at West Lancs College.

Lessons were cancelled as we watched Inside Out with popcorn and drinks!! There was even time to watch some football on the big screen as we used the toilets!…

Hand on science learning at its best! 
Year 3 enjoyed dissecting plants to identify the different parts and learning about the role of each part of the plant.

We enjoyed our Geography mapping activity today using large maps in the hall.
Mr Fyne set us some different challenges on the UK maps and maps of the worlds. We had to label the UK countries, capitals and seas and then the continents and oceans.

What a way to start the week! Year 3 have taken the lead in the Pace to Paris challenge as our Key Stage 2 classes aim to run/walk the 506 miles from Skelmersdale to Paris. An impressive 17 miles covered on the first day.

Year had a great start to the week as they enjoyed an Ancient Greece Day. The children loved learning about Ancient Greece by firstly exploring a primary source to see what they could learn about Ancient Greece from it. They then learnt about life in Athens and Sparta and had to come up with good…

Year 3 loved their Computing lesson where they were introduced to programming the microbits. They had to write the code to make their microbit flash up with a heart. They then had a go at programming the microbit to write their name. They can't wait to learn more next week.

Year 3 have been on a European adventure in Geography as they have been hard at work locating different European countries on the map.

Year 3 had a zen-tastic start to the day with an amazing yoga session. They were so relaxed and focused, setting them up for a productive day ahead.

Year 3 are enjoying learning about rocks and today tested different rocks to see how hard they were, if they could float or sink and if they would react to acid. They enjoyed making observations and were surprised when pumice floated!!
