Reception have been reading the story 'Handa's Surprise. They loved discussing similarities and differences to where they live and where the story is set, in Africa. Reception created their own African masks and enjoyed some wellbeing-colouring-in African patterns.

Reception enjoy their daily Phonics lessons. They practice their letter formation and sizing, read and spell words using their phonic knowledge, and write sentences too. Then, after all of that, they check their writing for capital letters, finger spaces and punctuation!

Reception each had beanbag. They were asked to choose whether certain topics were personal information or not personal information. They discussed what information would be unsafe to share online. Once decisions had been made, Reception placed their beanbag in the hoop with their choice. Reception…

Reception followed instructions for making Owl Toast.

There were many opportunities for exploration and building confidence without adult support. The children were so happy and proud of their creations, and even happier when they got to eat their owl Toast!

Reception were set a challenge to build a home for their little pig, buuuut, the big bad wolf was coming to huff and puff, and blow their houses down! Whose home would pass the challenge? All of them! They were brilliant!
