What a busy week we’ve had in The Hangout. We have worked hard in maths; making 5, most and least, 1 more and 1 less, TT Rockstars, Maths Whizz and grouping objects.

We have been reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have enjoyed making porridge, adding flavour and eating it! Yum!

We have been reading The Gingerbread Man. We have carried out lots of activities linked to the story, including making our own gingerbread. We have  had fun, especially decorating them. 

Reception class loved weighing the ducks on the scales using cubes. We counted how many cubes it took for the ducks to balance on the scales. 
 

We also helped to clean the ducks out and bath them in the sink. 

Wow! What a lovely, fun-filled day reception have had at Imagine That! Lots of amazing experiences to capture the children’s interests. Memories made forever on their first school trip. 
 

Year 3 loved making ‘Dirt Pudding’ yesterday. We used biscuits and a range of ingredients to create the different soil layers of the earth. Then they got to eat it! Yum! 

In science we carried out an experiment exploring rocks. We tested rocks to see which rock was the hardest during the scratch test, if they let water in and how they reacted to an acid (vinegar). Great scientists in Year 3! 
 

In science, Year 3 have been learning about different rocks. We had a go at sorting rocks into igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks. We also looked at handmade rocks like bricks and concrete. 

What a lovely afternoon Year 3 had for Friendship Day. We enjoyed working with a partner to mind map kind words we would use for each other. We also had a go at writing our own ‘Kind’ acrostic poems. But we enjoyed it the most when we wrote and received anonymous kind word notes from a class mate.…

Year 3 enjoyed learning all about the UK Parliament. They went on a virtual tour, learnt about debates and how voting takes place to pass new laws. They also enjoyed a game of Parliament bingo. They now know that the King, President or Emperor is not running our country!  During day 2, Year 3…

Year 3 really enjoyed an introduction into Black History.  We chatted about what it is, about the past and an introduction to Mary Seacole.  Very sensible comments were given, well done! We ended with some children dancing to a song about black people changing the world.

Although sports day wasn’t as we know it, Year 3 still had fun and a great time competing against each other.
