This week, children in The Hangout have been to the shop with their own shopping lists to buy ingredients to make bread.  We carefully read the recipe and baked our very own bread rolls. They were delicious! 
 

This week, we have been reading the story The Little Red Hen. We have been writing speech and thought bubbles for the characters, acting out the story with stick puppets and finding out about bread and the journey to making bread.

What a brilliant afternoon in Y4!  During Computing, we have been learning how to create an animation using Keynote.  Today involved creating a stop-motion video by duplicating slides with a background and shapes, this was a place flying across the sky. Great work!

Children in The Hangout have been enjoying science lessons in Year 4.  They’ve loved learning about different vertebrates, invertebrates and classifying animals. 
 

Each week children in The Hangout benefit from a forest school session.  They just love being outdoors and taking part in fun activities. 

Children in The Hangout have been enjoying music in Year 4.  We have been learning to sing Mamma Mia by ABBA and playing this on a glockenspiel. Great work!

This week, children in The Hangout have benefitted from different sensory activities involving using the therapy ball.  

What a brilliant week we are having in The Hangout! It has been great settling back into our routine.

So far, we have been making our own toast, joined in the science lesson in Y4, taking part in sensory activities and getting back into our working routine. 

What a busy week we’ve had in The Hangout. We have worked hard in maths; making 5, most and least, 1 more and 1 less, TT Rockstars, Maths Whizz and grouping objects.

We have been reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have enjoyed making porridge, adding flavour and eating it! Yum!

We have been reading The Gingerbread Man. We have carried out lots of activities linked to the story, including making our own gingerbread. We have  had fun, especially decorating them. 

Reception class loved weighing the ducks on the scales using cubes. We counted how many cubes it took for the ducks to balance on the scales. 
 

We also helped to clean the ducks out and bath them in the sink.
