Year 5 - Art - Exploring Graphite
Year 5 #embraced exploring graphite, looking at the marks it can create and exploring what happens when we add water. After exploring we created a small drawings, using both water and graphite.
Y5 Safer Internet Day
Y5 have been taking part in Safer Internet Day activities - with a focus on artificial intelligence and how it can impact our lives. We then discussed how apps and their algorithms can tailor content which persuades and influences us.
Y5 Mental Health workshop
Year 5 started the week with a mental health workshop, focusing on mindfulness and using yoga as a way of organising our minds. We spent time in a calming environment and thought about ourselves in a lovely morning session. What a great way to start the week.
Year 5 - Art - Tonal Drawing
Today, Year 5 have #evolved their drawing skills, exploring tonal shades. We looked further at the different values of graphite, using them to draw a detailed leaf from observation.

Y5 get coding in Scratch
Year Five have been coding in Scratch to produce an interactive maze game. We started by coding our inputs so the gamer can control our character. Some of us chose to work on an iPad - using touch-screen inputs - while others wanted to use Chromebooks and code keyboard inputs.
