In Science this half term, Year 4 have been learning all about changes of state. Today, we explored how water can freeze into ice but also boil and change into water vapour. We enjoyed seeing a change of state by holding ice and experiencing what happens to it! ❄️

Year 4 have been celebrating anti bullying week by learning about how to ‘Speak up and shout out’ when bullying occurs. We looked at a ‘banter-ometer’ and discussed when banter can go too far.

As part of our learning during Remembrance Week, Year 4 took a trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelters. We learnt about what evacuees were, why people were evacuated and typical jobs that evacuees would have to do. Children were sent away to live with other families to keep them safe. Check out the…

This week, Year 4 have been practising exchanging in maths. We have been using the White Rose digital tools website to help us and they've absolutely smashed it this week! Keep it up! 

Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from The Pearl of Africa on Tuesday. They had fun dancing, singing, playing drums and making beaded bracelets! 

Year 4 have been working hard practising their spellings. This weeks spelling pattern is the suffix ‘ian’, so children have been practising words such as magician and optician with their partners.

Year 4 have been learning about keeping ourselves safe when using technology. The first example we looked at was ‘Should you take a picture on your phone and hold a hot drink?’. We talked about why it’s unsafe to do this and how we should prioritise one task over the other.
