This week, Year 4 #embraced Safer Internet Day. We took part in the BBC live lesson, where we learnt about what phishing was and how we can recognise scams easily. Children had a go in pairs at creating their own passwords (which consisted of three random words!)

This week, Year 4 have been introduced to a new type of poetry called haiku’s. They consist of 3 lines with a different number of syllables required per line. The children loved having a go at coming up with their own haiku’s about school! 

Year 4 have been learning how to find factor pairs. They've used counters to create arrays. Well done Year 4!

This week in maths, we have been learning how to multiply 2 digits by 1 digit. We’ve used a range of methods such as partitioning, drawing and number lines. Today, we used the place value charts on white rose digital tools! 

This week, Year 4 have been learning how to multiply using base 10. Children worked in pairs to solve 2 digit by 1 digit multiplications. Well done! 

This week, we've started a new science topic on sound. We learnt that sound travels through vibrations. We tested this theory by making sounds with musical instruments and feeling their vibrations. We also tested this by using string phones - they really work!
