Online Safety
Year 2 discussed their online lives and talked about all the different things that they did online. We watched a video to help learn more about keeping safe online and talked about what we would do if we had any worries online.
The Great Fire of London
Year 2 were so engrossed in their first lesson about the Great Fire of London. After we had a pretend fire drill, we found something in class. It was some burnt bread, cheese and wine! We started to learn about how the fire started and what happened.
Year 2 are hard at work in handwriting
Year 2 are working so hard on improving their handwriting. They are learning to take care to form letters correctly, get them the correct size and begin to join letters in their writing. The challenge is to remember to always write as nicely as they do in handwriting!
London! London!
Year 2 have enjoyed starting to learn about London. We had to find clues to work out which place we were learning about. We then learnt about where London is and facts about London. We played a True False game and even found London on Google Earth and spotted some landmarks.

We love Reading
We are really enjoying our different reading activities in Year 2 during Guided Reading. Groups enjoy reading and even had a go at following instructions from their Guided Reading books. We also enjoy reading comprehension and working out which words are real and nonsense.
Experimenting with tone and drawing buildings
Year 2 started their new art topic today by experimenting with how to draw narrow and broad lines and use tone, using drawing pencils and charcoal. They then looked at buildings in Skemersdale and London and had a go at drawing them.
Making maps in Geography
