The Home Guard

Year 2 visit the Victory Garden
Year 2 visited our Victory Garden today to place their poppy stones round our Cenotaph and remember the people who had fought in the wars. They also left some of their messages - "Lest we Forget" "We will remember them"
Year 2 - Remembrance Art
Year 2 have been learning about Remembrance and why we wear poppies. They enjoyed experimenting with drawing poppies before then painting their design onto a pebble to place in our Victory Garden. They wrote some lovely thoughtful messages to go alongside them.

Black History Month in Year 2
Year 2 have really enjoyed our work during Black History month. This week we listened to reggae music by Bob Marley. We also looked at Lilian Bader and Trevor McDonald. We found out about their lives and why they were famous.
Science - Absorbency experiments
We had to carry out an experiment to investigate which materials were the most absorbent. We learnt that absorbent means soaks up water easily and had to make our predictions before testing different materials.

Year 2 Onesie Run for Cancer Research UK
Year 2 had a blast this afternoon as they enjoyed running our Mile a Day track as part of our fundraising to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Well done Year 2! Great effort
Investigating properties of materials
Year 2 are enjoying exploring different materials in Science and learning about their properties. Today we learnt about rubber, cardboard, glass and brick.
