We had a lovely afternoon taking inspiration from Monet. The children created their own season drawing and added colour through the use of water paints and fine brush strokes. 
The embraced the challenge and created some masterpieces!

We love computing in year 1! Each week the children develop skills and become more independent. Our new topic is 3D design. This week the children created their own tree houses, ensuring they had key features in it. Mrs Bentham was very impressed!

In geography we are learning about the United Kingdom. Today we learnt the four countries which make up the United Kingdom and their capital cities! 
We loved trying to find the UK on our blow up globe and in atlases. The children recorded their learning on their own map using a colour code key.

What a way to start 2022! The children embraced exploring lines in our Art sessions. We used a range of media to represent lines creatively. The children amazed me with their talents and I just loved their line dancing!

Lots of festive fun in year 1 today! We were all super excited and loved every moment. Christmas dinner was delicious and it was topped off by making some festive biscuits in the afternoon.

What a wonderful Christmas assembly we had! It was lovely for you all to see your amazing children take part in their first Christmas performance. We are extremely proud of them all. The children embraced every moment and really enjoyed learning the different songs and dances.
