This week, Year 4 have been learning all about classifying animals based on their physical features. We worked in groups to sort animals into mammals, fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and insects!

Aspirations Week - West Lancs College visit
Year loved visiting West Lancs College, as part of our Aspirations week fortnight, to look at career opportunities there. They loved seeing the different courses on offer, from hairdressing, construction, mechanics and sports therapy...so many choices.
Aspirations Week Part 1 - Year 3
A great start to Aspirations week with 2 visitors coming in to tell us about their jobs.
We enjoyed a visit from Sparta Martial Art in Skelmersdale and they taught us a range of different moves.

Attendance Award Winners!!!
Year 3 were excited by the news that they were 'Attendance Award' winners and their prize was a cinema afternoon at West Lancs College.
Lessons were cancelled as we watched Inside Out with popcorn and drinks!! There was even time to watch some football on the big screen as we used the toilets!…
Plant disssetion
Hand on science learning at its best!
Year 3 enjoyed dissecting plants to identify the different parts and learning about the role of each part of the plant.
Enjoying mapping using our large maps
We enjoyed our Geography mapping activity today using large maps in the hall.
Mr Fyne set us some different challenges on the UK maps and maps of the worlds. We had to label the UK countries, capitals and seas and then the continents and oceans.
Pace to Paris Challenge - Year 3
What a way to start the week! Year 3 have taken the lead in the Pace to Paris challenge as our Key Stage 2 classes aim to run/walk the 506 miles from Skelmersdale to Paris. An impressive 17 miles covered on the first day.

Programming Microbits for the first time
Year 3 loved their Computing lesson where they were introduced to programming the microbits. They had to write the code to make their microbit flash up with a heart. They then had a go at programming the microbit to write their name. They can't wait to learn more next week.
PE - Cricket
This half term year 3 have been looking at Striking & Fielding in their PE unit, they have looked at skills you would be using in a game of cricket.
