Making Rock Buns
Today we looked at another aspect of the war effort at home and learnt about rationing. We then followed a WW2 recipe to make rock buns using some items that were rationed during the war.

Mapping the route to the park
Year 2 revisited their walk to the park by looking at the route on Google Maps. We learnt about compass directions and found out we walked south. We then drew a map of the route using some map symbols.

Observational Drawings
Year 2 enjoyed using different media to draw different play equipment from the playground. Using charcoal was a big hit! Next job is to turn these into mono prints.
Map reading in Geography
Year 2 enjoyed learning how to spot different features on a map of the local area. They then had a go at labelling a map of the area around school.
Faith Week - Indian Drumming
What an ending to Faith Week!
We enjoyed our Indian drumming session. We found out about what the drums were made of and then had a go at playing them in small groups! We also watched some Indian dancing.
Place Value
We are working hard in Maths to understand Place Value and compare numbers to see which are greater or less than. We are working with our maths partners to use cubes to make numbers, which helps us to count the tens and ones.
Faith Week in Year 2 - Hinduism and Islam
Hinduism
As part of Faith Week, we had a workshop on Hinduism. We enjoyed learning about it means to a Hindu and how their beliefs differ to ours.
Islam
We enjoyed learning about Islam and the different artefacts, including a prayer mat and the Quaran.
Settling in well in our 2 year room
Our youngest Delph Siders are settling into school so well. They are loving the activities both indoors and outdoors, especially the painting!
