Today Year 2 have found out that a paper aeroplane falls to the ground much more slowly and gracefully than a crunched up piece of paper. This is because of the forces generated by air pressing on and moving over the surface of the paper.  We discovered this by creating our own aeroplanes and…

Today Year 2 learnt the notes G, B and E on the glockespiel and played a short melody to music. 

Today Year 2 immersed themselves into their new non-fiction writing topic about 'big cats'. They read non-chronological reports on tigers, lions, cheetahs and leopards and made their own class fact file about each animal.

Great lesson Year 2. I cant wait to learn more about them…

This week Year 2 have successfully completed their Special Agent Training

We celebrated by playing games on the school field and having some treats in the sunshine. We are so proud of how hard the children have worked this half term and hope you all have a well deserved rest.

This week, Year 2 have been exploring their drawing skills, and starting to apply tone to create forms in the local landscapes. 
 

Year 2 are learning to tell the time. This week we have learnt o'clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past the hour.

As part of their English, Year 2 have been researching facts about owls. They have learnt so many interesting things. Did you know the tiniest owl in the world is the Elf Owl, which is 5 - 6 inches tall and weighs about 1 ½ ounces? 

Year 2 have #enjoyed using their class library this week. Some children have been to London with their stories, others have been to a deep, dark cave. Books take you to lots of different places. where will you go to next?
 

In science, year 2 are investigating whether plants are sensitive to light and if a plant will grow around a maze to reach the light. They are very excited to watch their plant grow over the next couple of weeks.

Today Year 2 have been collected data and created their own pictograms using ilearn2. 

Year 2 have learnt about capacity and volume. They have collected different sized jugs and looked at which ones have the greatest/ smallest capacity.
